General Info

Name: Warren Kenneth Worthington III.
Nickname: Warren, Warrie, Chicken, Pigeon
Aliases: Angel
Gender: Male
Species: Mutant
Age: February 10th, 1979

Appearance

Ability: Warren is a mutant with the ability to navigate the skies. Most notably, Warren possesses the ability to fly by means of his natural wings, which span nineteen feet from wingtip to wingtip. Fully feathered like a bird's, the wings have a very flexible skeletal structure, enabling him to draw them and fold to where they press up against the back of his torso with only the slightest bulge visible under his clothing which he can hide with a jacket or layered shirts. The strength of his wings is such that he could easily hit a full-grown man through a wall with a swat;
Flight: By flapping his wings, Warren can fly at a normal cruising speed of about 70 miles per hour (112 km/h) without the help of a tail wind for up to half an hour at a time before tiring to an appreciable degree.
Augmented Physiology: Warren's entire anatomy is naturally adapted to flying.
Strength: Warren can lift almost four times his body weight.
Healing Factor: Warren can regrow damaged or destroyed tissue. Even Warren's touch seems to have a soothing effect on injuries and by placing one of his feathers against a wound and then wrapped with a bandage or included as part of a poultice seems to bestow a fraction of Warren's regeneration.
Height:  6'0" / 1.83 m
Weight: 150 lbs / 68.04 kg
Hair: blond, mostly short
Distinguishing marks: Scar on his wing as it got burnt at the fight club. A pair of feathered wings coming out of his back.
Eyes: sky like blue.
Clothing: depends. Mostly shirtless as it's the best way for his wings. But also loose shirts and Tanktops. On missions he always wears his uniform.

Personality

Temperament: He can be quite a pain in the ass and is pretty strong willed.
Political stance: grew up a mutant hater but later became a mutant supporter
Hobbies: mostly flying. Sometimes reading. Does flirting count too?
Habits: drinking. He seems to be very obsessed with the sky and birds to the point where it distracts him from social gatherings.
Likes: doing acrobatical stunts in the air, he also likes to go to festivals and theme parks. Birds (quite osessed with them) and flying around almost completely naked.
Dislikes: discrimination. Sometimes teaching.
Fears: I suppose the thoughts of his wings getting ripped off again, are quite cruel and give him anxiety.
Strengths: he is always a good listiner, a good friend and helper.
Weaknesses: he cannot talk about his mental health nor about his past. He has a weakness for beautiful women. Formerly Mental Burn-Out: As powerful as the Black Vortex enhancement makes Angel, it affects his mind in the form of cumulative stress, which causes Warren to go berserk regularly after a period of time.
Short term goals: success in teaching, for now.
Long term goals: Show humanity that mutants aren't bad. Make earth a better and peaceful place.
Occupation: Adventurer; flight teacher, multi-Millionaire, chairman and principal stockholder of Worthington Industries, former terrorist, former agent of Apocalypse, vigilante, dean of the Summers Institute.
Skills: He is very good at flying and doing stunts in the air. He's a natural at the most things.
Secrets: Warren can turn back into Archangel when he's about to die.

Gear

Always has:
mostly his phone.
Sometimes has:
A bazooka and a gun. He feels quite unsure about using them so he mostly leaves them locked up.

Events and History

Bad events in the past
Warren had a quite nice childhood – unless he started to grow wings. Growing up a mutant hater; he started to hate himself almost immediately. His father was unhappy about Warren being a mutant, thus he ripped them off (which was quite panfull) so his father wouldn't notice; but he did. Since then his father is working on a vaccine to cure him.
Another bad event was the death of his mother in his arms, the fight club he was trapped in where he had to fight other mutants and kill them in order to survive, and his Archangel being.
So far only Charles knows about most of this and all the other X-Men just know about his Archangel time.

Good events in the past

he has dated a lot of mutants; which he surely enjoyed and would consider it as good events. But also meeting the other X-Men and being part of the School For Gifted Youngsters. Letting go of his past as a terrorist and such.

History and background details
Warren is a member of the Worthington family, one of the top ten wealthiest families in the United States. On top of wealth, Warren is an attractive boy and seems naturally skilled at most things. Always a gifted student at school, Warren's only issue is he seems to be very obsessed with the sky and birds to the point where it distracted him from social gatherings. This also came with an infatuation with heights, something that frightened his parents when Warren started climbing tall trees and even the exterior of their large home.
Warren was placed in the Fairburn School, where he continued to excel in his classes. It was here that Warren discovered most girls in school were naturally attracted to him.
Warren continued to excel in school, particularly physical pursuits such as track and field where he beat the high jumping record. Warren's skill was such that many other students (including Warren's roommate Cameron Hodge) thought he might be using steroids to enhance his performance. This problem grew to the point that the school had to open a formal inquiry despite the sum of Worthington family donations to the school. During a physical exam of Warren, the doctor agreed upon by the Worthingtons and the school noticed some severe bruising on Warren's back. As Warren lived away from home, the doctor reported that he believed an instructor or other students were beating Warren, despite Warren's protestations that it was not the case. When the Worthingtons were informed of this, they withdrew their son.
While the parents shopped around for a new school for him, Warren returned home and sank into a bit of a depression as he was forced to leave his friends. While looking at himself in the mirror, inspecting these bruises for himself, Warren noticed a white feather sticking out of his back. He plucked the feather and wondered what it could mean. The next morning, there were more feathers and a slight bulge on his back. He plucked those feathers even though this time they bled. This continued for several more days.
The next week, Warren woke in the middle of the night with intense pain on his back. He ran to the bathroom and as he clutched the sink with his hands, his eyes saw by way of his reflection in the mirror as two small wings tore through the skin on his back. A few moments later, Warren passed out from the pain. By the time he awoke, his back had healed completely, but the wings were still there and had grown slightly. Warren was also in his bed, his mother sitting beside him. Warren did not know what to say to explain the wings but his mother told him to rest and that Warren's father would be in to see him soon.
Though Warren struggled with accepting his mutant nature at first, even going so far as to deliberately mutilate his wings when he fell to his lowest point, he did eventually come to embrace being a mutant. When he learned to use his wings to not only fly, but perform aerial stunts, Warren came to realize he truly was born to do this. Though a staunch atheist, Warren even happily started calling himself "Angel."
Warren briefly became a costumed superhero known as the Avenging Angel. He caught the attention of Professor X, who recruited him as the third of five founding members of the X-Men, along with Cyclops, Iceman, Beast, and Marvel Girl. At Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters the X-Men were tutored by Professor X and trained in the use of their powers in the Danger Room. During his time in class, Warren was a carefree student, often flying-off during Prof. Xavier's lessons and in public. Warren would conceal his mutation with a harness that Xavier created.

Age of Apocalypse and Archangel:

Warren was brainwashed and began to serve Apocalypse. Apocalypse warped his body and mind into his own "Angel of Death" upon his Celestial Ship and placed him into his team of Horsemen as Death. Warren's skin turned blue. He grew a set of bio-metallic wings from his back that could retract and also fire dart-blades with a neurotoxin. Warren's new wings could fly higher, faster, and were razor sharp.
Apocalypse had the Horsemen battle each other to find the leader, and Death beat them all. As Death, Warren fought the rest of X-Factor and captured them. After X-Factor's defeat, the Horsemen were sent into Manhattan to incite chaos. Warren was shocked back to his senses after Iceman faked his own death at Warren's hands by having him destroy an ice sculpture of Bobby. After their defeat of Apocalypse, his sentient Ship crash-landed on their Complex and X-Factor began living in it. X-Factor was approached by the media, and finally revealed the truth of X-Factor's mutant origins.

Mutant Level: Warren is a Gamma-Level Mutant with Beta-Class projected potential.
